Bridal Shower Monograms

Here are a few monogram patterns I created for a monogram bridal shower. The images can be printed on sticker paper and used to decorate favor bags and menus.

I used Photoshop to create these monograms, but you could easily use Microsoft Word as well.

Framed Dates Keepsake

I recently saw something on pinterest about creating a picture of important dates and framing it as a keepsake. I started playing around in Photoshop, and this is what I came up with:

The file was relatively easy to make. (The hardest part was figuring out my engagement date!) You can use any dates that are important to you. I used my birthday, my husband's birthday, our engagement date, wedding date, and our son's birthday.

Once framed, it looks like this:

Team Umizoomi Birthday

Lately, Chase's favorite show is Team Umizoomi on Nick Jr. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any Team Umizoomi party decorations in stores. The Nick Jr. website had lots of great ideas, so I "borrowed" a few from them.

I created a birthday banner using Photoshop. I printed 2 letters per 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock and cut them out. I strung them all together with piece of yarn and hung the banner on the back fence.

I wasn't able to find Team Umizoomi clothing anywhere, so I found a Bot digital image and Photoshopped a  number "3" onto the belly screen and printed it on iron-on transfer paper. I just ironed it on to a white t-shirt we
already had.

For the Bot cake, I used a recipe directly from the Nick Jr. website. It wasn't too difficult to create. I covered a piece of plywood with aluminum foil and assembled the cake directly on it.I just used a white cake and tinted vanilla icing with green, yellow, and blue food coloring.

Finally, I made Milli and Geo sugar cookies for the kids to take home as favors. The recipes for these cookies also came from the Nick Jr. website. They were a huge hit and very tasty!

If you are planning a party based on any of the Nick Jr. tv shows, I highly suggest using the Nick Jr. website as a reference. They have lots of free templates, recipes, and game ideas for all of their tv shows!

Owl Themed Baby Shower

I recently had the honor of hosting a baby shower for a dear friend who is pregnant with twins. I decided to use an owl/book theme because who doesn't love owls! The shower was held at a local restaurant, so they did the catering. I hung a clothesline above the food table and hung outfits for the boys. I also placed outfits with matching books at the end of each table.

We started with lunch, followed by a baby word scramble game.

Right before the mommy-to-be opened her gifts, guests were asked to write down some words of advice for the new parents.

Next, came the gifts! In lieu of a card, guests were asked to bring a book for the babies with a special note written inside.

The highlight of the presents was the Peepee Teepee.

We wrapped things up with some yummy cupcakes from Sweet Temptations Desserts.

Each of the guests left with a rock candy favor.

All in all, it was a great time!

Thanks so much to Kathy Rudolph and Christina Williamson for all of their help. Also, thanks to Lisa for allowing me to host her special event!
